ACUITY Insurance Headquarters

When it came time to choose a stone product for the ACUITY Insurance Headquarters in Sheboygan, WI, the architects were looking for a stone that would not only complement the exterior and interior design of the building but would also be durable and long lasting. ACUITY is a regional company that is nationally recognized not only for its operational excellence but for its intellectual capital as well. In addition to the many industry accolades the company has earned, ACUITY transcends the insurance industry with recognition in workplace environment, technology advancements and community philanthropy. 

For the exterior of the building, the architects used 55,000-square-feet of Biesanz MDL with Natural Stone Panels. Not only did MDL meet the requirements of the design team, but paired with the Natural Stone Panels it could be installed in a fraction of the time of hand set masonry walls. The architect was also able to send over approved shop drawings so the Biesanz team could begin engineering and design in our fabrication shop.

Throughout the interior of the building, more than 2,000-square-feet of MDL was used for the interior tile flooring, wall columns and stairs. Because MDL is exceptionally hard and durable, it has been chosen by architects and designers throughout the country as it can be used in high traffic areas and requires little to no maintenance.
